Let’s get to know each other a little more

I am G. David Jaramillo. I come from a traditional family founded on respect, service, cooperation, and responsibility. Values that I have ensured to maintain in the relationship with my wife and my three children. Since I can remember, I have always been curious to understand our behaviors’ reasons and motives. Studying and practicing clinical psychology has allowed me to acquire that knowledge and apply it with my clients so that they find the appropriate moments for self-reflection and recognize not only the strengths and resources they have but also the purpose of their existence.
In 2014 a tragic event, but at the same time blessed, helped me in this process of adjustment and understanding. Who would have thought that a car accident would make it easier for me to understand that life is just a moment where we all have the power to choose how to live it. Relearning such “basic” functions as walking, speaking, and eating after being in a coma for almost a month helped me reaffirm my service purpose. The emotional, psychological, and physical consequences of the accident have helped me understand that the best way to address problems or conflicts is by recognizing our strengths and resources to explore the best options to resolve them.

Do you need to understand, clarify, and manage your emotions better?
Analyzing and finding solutions to your problems implies knowing your resources and strengths, that is, empowering yourself in your life. At bEmotion, we consider that the critical factor in the change you seek is understanding and managing your emotions better to achieve the appropriate solutions. At bEmotion, you will find that the sessions and activities apply to the different contexts you interact with. Through the sessions, you will again recognize the enormous potential in you to respond satisfactorily in the different areas of your life and, therefore, to the relationships established in your environment and with others.

What will I find in the sessions with bEmotion?
At bEmotion, we practice a psychological model known as Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) that, combined with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Narrative Therapy (NT), has helped our clients to find solutions to their problems. One of this approach’s main assumptions is that it is more effective to focus on what is wanted than on what is wrong. Therefore, in most of the sessions, we’re dedicated to exploring goals, strengths, resources and the desired future in the absence of problems, rather than analyzing personal weaknesses, dysfunctions and failures.
By attending the sessions with bEmotion, you will not only be taking an important first step to improve or change those things that do not bring harmony in your life, but you will also indicate that you believe that it can happen. Our sessions usually last about an hour, and subsequent sessions depend on the circumstances surrounding the case and your willingness to continue.
